Resumo

This study is part of the research line Teaching and Learning of Science and Mathematics, the Graduate Program in Teaching of Science and Mathematics, Franciscan University. Considering that in the current scenario, with wide access to technologies and media, the fact that students do not understand what they read, generates difficulties in learning and becomes a worrying event for teachers. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the possible contributions of a notebook of activities to enhance the learning of mathematics in the early years of elementary school, focusing on the interpretation of problems. For this it was identified what is in the documents and references of the teaching of Mathematics for the Early Years; it was elaborated a notebook of activities, as an educational product, containing 13 interactive activities, based on the assumptions of the National Common Curricular Base, subject, object of knowledge and skills. The research is characterized as qualitative and documentary, with quantitative analysis. The application of the product, through a strategy drawn by moments of application, occurred with 16 students of the 4th year of the Initial Years of Elementary School. Consequently, when applying the educational product, Matematizando no Sítio, it was noticed the enthusiasm with which the students received the material, were curious to handle the notebook and, demonstrated to be encouraged to start the development of activities, Since the notebook is a different material from the usual used in classes, a material in notebook format, with illustrations and colors. Thus it was found that the work presented has potential to be used in the early years of elementary school, in which the teacher can use the planning of activities, or even make an adaptation of the plan according to the school reality of his class. It is believed that the notebook of activities, in addition to playful, provided the student’s approach to their realities, making him an active agent in the process of his learning.
