Resumo

Teaching is seeking to move the student towards an experience of consistent meaning, in order to motivate them in the face of a problem. Reflecting on pedagogical practices and the need of using an innovative teaching method, active and collaborative learning methodologies prove to be an excellent option, as they can enable the student to achieve their learning objective, taking into account their knowledge, feelings, and “limits”. In particular, the Método Trezentos, which we present as a proposal for this research, consists of promoting collaboration between students, awakening their views on each other's learning difficulties. As a guiding question, we seek to answer the question: how can we use an active and collaborative teaching method, in particular the Método Trezentos, in order to contribute to the student-Mathematics-world relationship? Therefore, we aim here to investigate the potential of the Method in learning Mathematics in a High School class. The research was carried out with students from a private school in the city of Campina Grande-PB, and the data was produced from group interviews. As a result, we identified some of the difficulties that students encounter in learning Mathematics, the potential of Method, in: teaching Mathematics beyond the classroom, in humanizing Mathematics teaching and for learning Mathematics.
