Resumo
The integration of technology in teaching and learning mathematics has acquired much relevance in enhancing the quality of education. This study sought to explore the opportunities and challenges of secondary school mathematics teachers in the process of integrating technology in Lahore, Pakistan. The research used a quantitative descriptive survey research design as part of the positivist paradigm to objectively investigate the experiences of the teachers. 300 Mathematic Teachers of Lahore were selected through random sampling to collect the responses. Data were collected using an adapted questionnaire from Sandhu (2024), based on a 5-point Likert scale. The instrument consisted of four major sections representing the independent variables of the study: (TC), Pedagogical Integration Practices (PIP), Teachers’ Perceptions and Beliefs (PAB), and Challenges and Opportunities (CAO). The adapted instrument was developed through a complete validation and pilot testing process, as well as the three expert opinions. While, the data was analyzed using descriptive analysis, and the results showed that the lack of training, insufficient infrastructure, and time were major challenges, which implies that there are more barriers than opportunities. Additionally, the research advises seeking professional growth, better infrastructure, and institutional support that will facilitate effective and fair implementation of technology.
