FORMAÇÃO DE PROFESSORES EM SERVIÇO NO TERRITÓRIO DO GEOPARQUE QUARTA COLÔNIA: UMA ANÁLISE À LUZ DA EDUCAÇÃO PATRIMONIAL

Resumo

The present study is part of the Research Line “Teacher Training in Science and Mathematics”, of the Postgraduate Program in Science and Mathematics Teaching at the Franciscana University, Santa Maria, Rio Grande do Sul (RS). Community involvement in scientific cultural heritage plays an important role in economic, social, environmental, political and educational development, seeking to strengthen identities and their sense of belonging as a territory. In this sense, the continued training of teachers in service in the territory is a latent issue that has been prioritized, aiming at social, critical and civic training of individuals, within a context that values diverse knowledge. It is worth highlighting that teacher training must be approached with an emphasis on the needs of school communities. In view of this, this research has as its guiding question: How does the continued training of in-service teachers contribute to Heritage Education in the territory of the Quarta Colônia Geopark? Based on this guiding question, the following general objective was created: Analyze how the continued training of in-service teachers contributes to Heritage Education in the territory of the Quarta Colônia Geopark. Aiming to achieve this objective, the following specific objectives were outlined: Highlight the potential of the scientific-cultural heritage present in the territory of the Quarta Colônia Geopark; Reflect on the teaching training of teachers who work in the territory of the Quarta Colônia Geopark and explore the activities that were carried out during the five editions of the Interdisciplinary Conferences on Teacher Training in Heritage Education. As a methodological path, we opted for a qualitative approach, of a bibliographic and documentary nature, using Content Analysis as the analysis technique. The five editions of the “Interdisciplinary Journey of Teacher Training in Heritage Education of the Quarta Colônia”, held in the period 2020 – 2023, were analyzed. This is a dissertation in multipaper format, consisting of the introduction, theoretical framework, methodological path and results. Namely, the results and discussions are organized in the format of four scientific articles, covering the general objective, as well as the demands of the specific objectives. It was found that the event constitutes an important space for discussion, promotion and dissemination of the Geopark's historical-cultural issues, as well as allowing the construction of knowledge between teachers and the community that makes up the Geopark as a whole. Thus, it should be noted that teacher training occurred, a priori, through lectures, seminars, workshops that came gradually, over the course of the editions, expanding its offer of activities, as well as seeking the protagonism of teachers in service in the Fourth Colônia. Among the actions, questions were mainly explored regarding the didactic potential regarding geodiversity, sociodiversity and biodiversity of the aforementioned Geopark. Furthermore, there must be involvement and accountability on the part of coordinators, institutions, managers, teachers and the community in general, especially with regard to understanding and intervention/action, undertaking scientific-cultural, natural and social knowledge in the Quarta Colônia Geopark.
