Resumo
Originating from professional master's research, this paper focuses on the cultural practices of Boi Pintadinho in Muqui, Brazil, and its connection with school mathematics education. The investigation adopts an ethnomathematical perspective, based on D'Ambrosio and Bishop, conceiving mathematics as a human and cultural construction. The text reports on a pilot experiment with a qualitative and ethnographic approach, carried out through participant observation in 2024, recording forms, rhythms, and choreographies. The analysis followed Bishop's activities: counting, measuring, locating, projecting, playing, and explaining. The findings reveal practices intertwined with these processes, integrating cultural knowledge and school mathematical thinking. It is concluded that the ethnomathematical approach offers paths to diversified education and contextualized learning.
