Resumo
In this work, we explore isoperimetric problems in the plane through a gradual approach, starting from elementary geometric intuitions and progressing toward more general and abstract formulations. In addition to the theoretical deepening, we investigate the educational potential of the topic within the context of Basic Education. To this end, we propose three interconnected lesson sequences aimed at di!erent school levels. The study also presents an alternative proof regarding the growth of the area of regular polygons as a function of the number of sides, using only elementary arguments. We hope that this research contributes to the dissemination of the content related to the isoperimetric inequality and reinforces the importance of addressing advanced mathematical topics in an accessible way, sparking students’ interest and encouraging the continuous pursuit of knowledge.
