Jogos educativos: uma abordagem interdisciplinar para o ensino de matemática com vertentes em educação ambiental

The teaching of mathematics needs to be more attractive to students, since it is considered one of the subjects with the highest rejection rate in the school environment, even though it is a basic and fundamental subject for the development of many other contents and essential for the development of logical reasoning. Considering that the current generation is very linked to games and entertainment, this work sought to build and use educational games involving mathematical content associated with environmental issues in a State School in the region of Uberlândia/MG, focusing on high school students in the initial process and end of the investigation. The development of the research was supported by fellows from Pibid - Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program, who helped in the development of the investigation stages, based on the results of the diagnosis of questionnaires proposed for high school students, listing their greatest learning difficulties. The group of Pibid scholarship students created educational games addressing the themes of this investigation using mathematical subjects as a basis from student surveys, presented and tested in final pre-test meetings held between Pibid students and researchers. As data collection, qualitative elements combined with quantitative were developed, through Google Forms questionnaires, lectures/meetings and observations during the development of the research stages. Quali/quantitative questionnaires were also used at the end of the research with students, the objective of which was to map their perceptions about the mathematical content covered in educational games and their conceptions about positive and negative environmental impacts. After approaching the games, we found that the most difficult mathematical topics were associated with trigonometry. The questionnaires revealed that the most mentioned Environmental Education topic was recycling. Furthermore, we identified difficulties related to knowledge about fossil fuels and herbicides/pesticides. The research sought to contribute significantly to the improvement of educational practices in mathematics classes, addressing Environmental Education content.
