Resumo
Mathematics and culture are inherently interconnected, as various forms of cultural heritage reflect artistic creativity that embeds mathematical ideas and illustrates how communities understand mathematical concepts. Ethnomathematics explores the relationship between mathematics and culture in society. This study aims to describe the ethnomathematical aspects of the weaving art in Bandar Kediri, East Java, Indonesia. A qualitative research design with an ethnographic approach was employed. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the woven textiles of Bandar Kediri incorporate several mathematical concepts, including geometric transformations (reflection, translation, dilation) and geometry (plane figures, spatial figures, and symmetry). These results suggest that Kediri's cultural heritage can serve as a valuable contextual resource for mathematics learning.
