Resumo
This article analyzes the contributions of Ethnomathematics to Inclusive Mathematics Education for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), in dialogue with Vygotsky, Freire, and Ausubel. This is a qualitative study developed as a critical narrative review, complemented by documentary analysis of legislation, public policies, and official epidemiological data. The literature search was conducted in SciELO, ERIC, and PubMed, covering contemporary publications from 2018 to 2026 while retaining seminal works essential to the theoretical framework. Portuguese and English descriptors related to ethnomathematics, inclusive mathematics education, autism, neurodiversity, and Universal Design for Learning were combined with the Boolean operators AND and OR. The final corpus comprised 30 bibliographic and documentary sources selected according to thematic relevance and alignment with the research problem and examined through a thematic-interpretive narrative synthesis. Four analytical categories emerged: mediation and meaningful learning; neurodiversity and barriers to participation; ethnomathematics and the plurality of ways of producing mathematical knowledge; and curricular accessibility and the design of inclusive practices. The literature reviewed suggests that cultural contextualization, multiple forms of representation, and recognition of students' repertoires may broaden opportunities for participation and learning, although the review does not support claims of specific causal effects. Ethnomathematics is therefore understood as a promising framework for questioning homogeneous practices and guiding empirical research on the mathematical inclusion of autistic students.
