Resumo

The research reported in this article presents the Study and Research Group on Trends in Mathematics Education and Culture (GEPTEMaC), highlighting its role in Mathematics Education through the analysis of ongoing and ongoing Ethnomodeling investigations. The theoretical and methodological paths taken, the collective reflections, and the contributions to the dialogue between culture and mathematics are highlighted. Qualitative and theoretical in nature, the investigation adopted the methodological procedure of analyzing 21 academic productions — at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels — examined using the Content Analysis technique. The results point to Ethnomodeling as a possibility that values ​​culture in studies, recognizing mathematical knowledge and practices in sociocultural environments. GEPTEMaC has strengthened the academic debate and expanded its national reach.
