Resolução de problemas na formação de conceitos matemáticos: práticas com plataformas digitais e inteligência artificial nos Anos Iniciais do Ensino Fundamental

Resumo

This research aims to verify the contribution of a pedagogical proposal for teaching mathematics through problem-solving. The proposal integrates digital platforms (Scratch, Mathigon) and Artificial Intelligence as triggers for activities, aimed at constructing an understanding of the four mathematical operations by 3rd-grade students in the early years of elementary school. In Mathematics Education, teaching through Problem Solving values student protagonism, promoting the construction of knowledge from challenges that mobilize new concepts. In this process, the teacher acts as a mediator, formalizing, at the end, the ideas constructed by the children. The contents addressed were the four basic operations. The methodology adopted is qualitative in nature, based on Romberg’s Research Model (2007), with an action-research character. Thirty students from a peripheral municipal school located in Campina Grande (PB) participated in the study. Data were obtained through problem solving over nine workshop sessions and 19 face-to-face meetings, and were documented as written productions, images, and audio recordings from the groups. The workshops were based on the methodology of teaching, learning, and assessing mathematics through problem-solving. The results indicate that working with this methodology and with innovative proposals in the classroom increased motivation, both for the facilitator when teaching and for the students when learning, in addition to favoring a more meaningful understanding of mathematical operations. These aspects, evidenced throughout the implementation, reinforce the relevance of the research for Mathematics Education in the Early Years, especially regarding the integration of digital technologies into pedagogical practice.
